Definition Of Computer Science And Engineering
The study of computation and computer technology, hardware, and software. Computer science is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. It is the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression, and mechanization of the methodical procedures (or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of, and access to information. An alternate, more succinct definition of computer science is the study of automating algorithmic processes that scale. A computer scientist specializes in the theory of computation and the design of computational systems. While we can easily identify the features and benefits of the Computer Science and Engineering department, making a choice always involves a subjective element: Is the field of computing right for you? Is the CSE department the right one for you? Computer engineering refers to the study that integrates electronic engineering with computer sciences to design and develop computer systems and other technological devices. The term computer engineering is often confused with computer science, but these two terms are different.
